ATTORNEY PROFILES - MEMBERS

John A. McManus was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1950 and was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1976. Mr. McManus was admitted to the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York in 1979; the United States Court of Appeals, Second Circuit in 1995; the United States Supreme Court in 1999; and the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals in 1999.  Prior to the founding of McManus, Collura & Richter, P.C., he was the managing partner of the professional liability department of Conway, Farrell, Curtin & Kelly, P.C.  Prior to his association with such firm he was an Assistant Vice President of Home Insurance Company where he managed all of Home’s attorney malpractice matters in the eastern United States, supervising in excess of 50 employees.  Mr. McManus received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Niagara University in 1972 and a Juris Doctor Degree from the Creighton University School of Law in 1975.  Mr. McManus is a member of the New York State Bar Association Committee on Insurance (1998 to 2003 and 2005 to present); the Defense Association of New York; the American Bar Association, Richmond County Bar Association and the Professional Liability Underwriters' Society.

Anne Patrice Richter was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1961 and was admitted to the Connecticut State Bar in 1990 and the New York State Bar in 1991.  Ms. Richter was admitted to the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York in 1992; the United States Court of Appeals, Second Circuit in 1995; the United States Supreme Court, 1999; and the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals in 1999.  Prior to founding McManus, Collura & Richter, P.C., she was a partner at the firm of Conway, Farrell, Curtin & Kelly, P.C. where she practiced professional liability defense law.  Prior to her association with Conway, Farrell Ms. Richter was an Assistant Vice President of General Reinsurance Corporation. Ms. Richter graduated from the College of William and Mary with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1983.  She received her Juris Doctor Degree from New York Law School in 1990 where she graduated cum laude and received the American Jurisprudence Award in trusts.  She served as the Notes and Comments Editor of the New York Law School Journal of International and Comparative Law.  Ms. Richter is a member of the New York State Bar Association Committee on Standards of Attorney Conduct (2000 to present); the Defense Association of New York; the Connecticut Bar Association; the American Bar Association; the Association of the Bar of the City of New York and the Professional Liability Underwriters' Society.

Nicholas P. Chrysanthem was born in Manhattan in 1960 and was admitted to the New Jersey State Bar in 1988 and the New York State Bar in 1989.  Mr. Chrysanthem is admitted to practice law before the United States District Courts for the  Southern and Eastern Districts of New York as well as the District of New Jersey. Prior to becoming of counsel to McManus, Collura & Richter in June 2002, Mr. Chrysanthem was a partner of Ateshoglou & Chrysanthem, P.C. from 1994 through May 2002 where he was in charge of the litigation department.  Mr. Chrysanthem concentrated his practice in the areas of commercial and corporate litigation, subrogation as well as the prosecution and defense of serious personal injury cases.  A partial listing of his clients includes: Chicago Insurance Company, Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company, Korea First Bank, Dime Savings Bank of New York, Marine Risks, Inc., World Copy, Inc. and Meridian Properties.  From 1988 through 1993, Mr. Chrysanthem practiced insurance defense law at Conway, Farrell, Curtin & Kelly, P.C. Mr. Chrysanthem is a member of the New York State Bar Association, New York State Trial Lawyers Association and the American Trial Lawyers Association. Mr. Chrysanthem received a Juris Doctor Degree from Fordham University School of Law in 1988 and received the American Jurisprudence Award in torts.  He received a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Arts from Iona College in 1982.
